Finding family-friendly restaurants can be difficult, especially if you’re looking to try a lot of new things in a new city. Here’s our ideal weekend drawn up around family friendly food and specials around River City. Check them all out and make sure to find their offers on The House App.
Saturday
BREAKFAST + COFFEE
Open at 8 A.M. on Saturday, Camp House serves Mad Priest coffee (locally roasted in Chattanooga) from a hip espresso bar right downtown on 149 East ML King Boulevard. Camp House’s large porch and incredible brunch menu of breakfast classics like biscuits, waffles, french toast, and pastries cater to kids and adults alike. We recommend The Camp House waffle (pictured above), and anything off the Camp House espresso bar. Make sure to check The House app for specials on pastries and coffee when you go.
LUNCH
Midday, head over to Good Dog right on Northshore for family friendly service and a funky Chattanooga atmosphere. Good Dog grills up all-beef, natural-casing Sabrett’s hot dogs, local Heritage Health Food veggie dogs, hand-cased bratwurst, italian sausage, breakfast sausage and a variety of chicken sausages along with their famous frites, cupcakes and beer. Sit and Stay or take your dog to the park- Coolidge Park is just outside the Good Dog door.

DINNER
Option #1: Fiamma
If your family likes pizza, don’t miss checking out Fiamma‘s specialty Neapolitan pizzas. Located in central Northshore, Fiamma has a great porch and authentic Italian pizzas- the Margherita is a favorite. Option #2: The Feed Co. Table & Tavern.
Known for their elevated comfort food, Feed is a Chattanooga hit with kids that adults love. Their kids menu features favorites kids love and the Tremont burger off the regular dinner menu is a personal favorite. Specifically ground meat from Tremont Tavern’s proprietary angus blend and a Neidlov’s bun make this probably the best burger in town. It’s so goodwe sat down with it’s creator, BJ Hightower, for an interview about its recipe.
DRINKS + DESSERT
Tony’s is a great spot to wind down with the family after a long day- their sunroom, patio, loft, and deck overlooking the river are great indoor and outdoor places for a family to hang out over dessert. Tony’s has a diverse dessert menu and a huge wine selection, featuring the only exclusively Italian wine selection in Chattanooga. Sunday
BRUNCH
Option #1: Rembrandts
If you loved the ambiance of the Art District at night, head across the sidewalk to Rembrandts for Sunday brunch. The Rembrandts patio is full of flowers and the aroma of house roasted coffee. Known for their handmade pastries, the Rembrandts menu features brunch favorites like The Bees Knees, a Challah French toast topped with sweet creamed vanilla brie, rosemary-orange honey, strawberries, and whipped cream that is absolutely incredible. They also serve a traditional menu of eggs and breakfast sandwiches along with their awesome case of pastries.
Option #2: 1885 Grill
1885 hosts traditional Sunday brunch from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. in St. Elmo. You can read through their brunch menu here, but we recommend the Belgian Waffle Bananas Foster. Kids love it and adults understand why- whipped cream should always be a part of brunch.
COFFEE / JUICE + SNACKS
The Local Juicery is a perfect spot to take the family for juice, smoothies, smoothie bowls, snacks, and coffee. As an organic kitchen and pressed juicery, The Local Juicery is going to be your best bet for refueling kids midday without the sugar rush OR the caffeine crash. The Local Juicery is located right on Main Street, so check them out while you’re downtown.
DINNER
Option #1: Bluewater Grille
Bluewater Grille is centrally located right downtown with a porch perfect for watching the nightlife on Broad Street. Their menu is full of sophisticated seafood and classics like burgers, pasta, and sandwiches. Kids menus are available, too.
Option #2: Slick’s
If you’re more in the mood for a chill atmosphere and great burger, head over to Slick’s. Voted great for kids on Yelp, Slick’s is a great place to bring the family. Slick’s serves up house ground beef, lamb, and turkey burgers and made-from-scratch condiments, making a unique Chattanooga burger that you can’t miss.
