For five quick recommendations on Chattanooga’s best craft beer, read through our list of picks of the best bars and brews around.

The Tap House

The Tap House is the newest place in town located in St Elmo right next to 1885. They’re constantly rotating their 30 taps and updating their digital menu. What you’ll find is a mix of local favorites like Moccasin Bend Brewing’s Belgian style ‘St Elmo Smart Ass’ and OddStory Brewing Company’s Brown Ale mixed with classics like Guinness and PBR, but you’ll always see some creative brews with curated picks like a Vanilla Java Porter from Atwater Brewery or a Breakfast Oatmeal Stout from Founder’s Brewing.

Check out The Tap House at 3800 St. Elmo Avenue.

The Terminal Brewhouse

The Terminal Brewhouse, located on Main Street in Southside, features an inventive selection of beers brewed fresh in-house, serving them right out of the tank. Terminal’s brews are featured at The Honest Pint, Hair of the Dog Pub, Easy Bistro, and The Flying Squirrel. Brewmaster Steve Purdie left his corporate restaurant job to pursue his passion for beer at The Terminal. The amber colored, German style Maibock is a personal favorite. One of the most unique buildings in town. It doesn’t get better than sitting on the porch of one of the most unique buildings in town over the newly renovated Station Street.

Also known for their crafty food, The Terminal serves hearty tavern fare, pizzas and burgers. Also make sure to check out some of The Terminal’s beer cocktail specialties like bacon-infused vodka, cucumber gin, and their rotating seasonal infusion.

Visit The Terminal at 1464 Market Street from 11 a.m. to midnight daily.

Chattanooga Brewing Co.

Chattanooga Brewing Company, a brewery started over 100 years ago, was revived in 2006 and moved to a larger facility in Southside that can produce more than 5,000 barrels a year. Still serving Imperial Pilsner, the German Helles style Pilsner that Chattanooga Brewing was making in the 1890’s, Chatt Brew is committed to reviving the historic Southside district and serving incredible beer.

The Chestnut Street Brown Ale is a favorite at Chatt Brew, but if you’re feeling risky, then try the Hot Mama. It’s an Imperial Pilsner infused with habaneros and green peppers and it’ll light you up. Thursday night is a great night to go check out Chatt Brew; they make fantastic wings that are $.75 that night including $1 off any of the pints.
